About Our Chapter

The reason for a Wisconsin chapter is simple: a disease as devastating as ALS requires a localized level of care and resources. While we work closely with the National Office in sharing information and patient advocacy efforts, we’re largely an autonomous organization that relies on the financial and volunteer support of the local area.

Our Chapter evolved from an in-state support group and became an official ALS Association Chapter in 1987. Our staff includes the Executive Director, Development Manager and Fundraising Coordinator, who in coordination with the Care Services Director, Care Services Coordinators and Support Group Facilitators, work together to raise much needed funds and provide services and support for our Chapter families. The staff is guided by a Board of Directors and ALS Leadership Team. Dedicated volunteers and community partners also provide invaluable support in all areas of the Chapter.

OUR MISSION is to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global,  cutting-edge research, and to empower people with ALS  and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.
