Wisconsin Walks and Distinguished Events
CHASIN' A CURE
First staged in 2012, Chasin’ A Cure has become an annual opportunity to bring more awareness to the ALS cause, while raising money and having a good time in the process.
A natural tie-in to Lou Gehrig’s Disease, it’s a baseball tailgate party held in the parking lot of Miller Park before a Milwaukee Brewers game and includes a free concert, food and drinks, and a ticket to the game. Inside the stadium, we make our presence known by wearing matching ALS t-shirts and having an ALS patient or family member throw the ceremonial first pitch.
The event has become a reality and a success through the generous dedication and contributions Sobelman's Burgers, Jimmy Luv’s Bloody Marys, MillerCoors, Tito's, and countless other contributors and volunteers.
WALK TO DEFEAT ALS®
While there’s no shortage of charity walk/run events out there, the sense of community and support at ours is absolutely amazing. There’s no better way to describe it than a “2.1k Love Fest.” Maybe that’s because the money that’s raised at these events stays right here in Wisconsin, providing equipment and services to help local ALS patients and their families cope with the disease.
The Walk is free to participate in, but donations are greatly appreciated. In fact, one of the best ways to help raise money is to put a team together. Whether it’s to honor a loved one who’s experienced ALS or simply to band together for a worthy cause, Walk to Defeat ALS is always a great time.
