Fun and Exciting Ways to Fight ALS
Matching Gifts
If your company has an employee matching gift program, you could double the amount of your gift to The ALS Association. Check with your Human Resources or Community Relations Department and ask for the proper form to request that your company match your gift. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. If your company is eligible, visit the Matching Gifts Database for detailed steps to request a company match for your donation.
Ice Bucket Challenge
What ignited in 2014 was just the tip of the iceberg! The Ice Bucket Challenge was a viral sensation created to fund research, treatment and a cure for ALS! Since it began, the challenge was very popular on social media. THE CHALLENGE: Make a video where you have a bucket of icy water poured over your head and challenge/tag a bunch of your friends to do the same to spread ALS awareness, donate a certain amount of money to ALS, OR BOTH! You can use any social media platform, including (but not limited to): Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat or TikTok! Make sure to tag us @ALSFlorida!
Youth Action
The actions of our young ALS advocates make a BIG difference! Kids and teens can participate in all sorts of activities such as the "Pie in Your Face" Challenge, where kids take a pie in the face for ALS awareness and challenge their friends and family to do so. Kids in our communities have sold lemonade and popsicles during the Florida summer, and some have even designed and sold their own jewelry. We trust the imagination and creativity of each youth taking action against ALS. Feel free to share your pictures and videos with us!
