Jerry Bowen ALS Making Memories Award

Jerry Bowen was diagnosed with ALS in December 2013. Jerry saw the bigger picture when it came to serving those living with ALS. He facilitated a support group that wasn’t focused on any group, organization or individual, but it was focused on the families being served. Named for this Oklahoma ALS Hero, the Jerry Bowen ALS Making Memories Award is now given annually to an individual who has made a difference in Oklahoma for the ALS community. A primary consideration in selecting a recipient will be Walk participation in some aspect – participation, fundraising, volunteering, attaining sponsorships or creating and expanding a team member, etc. We will also be considering those who partner with the ALS Association Oklahoma whether it is advocacy, volunteering, fundraising, idea implementation, etc; individuals who partner with us to move treatments forward and assist in the enhancement of programs & services for the Oklahoma ALS Family. We will be giving 3 awards annually – a person on the eastern side of the state “Tulsa Area”, a person on the western side of the state “Oklahoma City Area” and a Corporate Champion.
